Herzlich willkommen! Serdecznie witamy! Welcome!

This is the weblog of our Polish-German exchange project for young adults. Its title is 'Spotkajmy się w Białowieży - Treffpunkt Białowieża', and we are meeting here in the lovely village of Bialowieża for nine days. We are discussing issues of sustainable development of the countryside, with a main focus on this part of Eastern Poland, but with many references also to the rest of Poland, and to Germany.

We are a group of sixteen young people, united by a strong interest in these issues and the will to discuss, analyse and document the things we see and hear during our stay. For the purpose of documentation we will produce a number of photographs which will form an exhibition, to be shown in different places in Bialowieża as well as online. Besides the common interest in the subject, of course we are doing our best to integrate as a group and to learn as much as possible from and about each other!

Getting to know each other

The venue of our seminar is Wejmutka, a lovely wooden house in the heart of the village of Bialowieza. It accommodates the entire group and offers great conditions for meeting and working.
